Battlefield 6 Leak Reveals Amazing News: Is This Our Best Look at a Battle Royale?

Get suited up, soldiers! Speculation and rumours had been rampant in the wake of Battlefield 6, and it seems the latest intel has landed, providing our best possible look so far at what could be a major feature in the game; its highly anticipated battle royale mode could be. If everything holds true from these leaks, then we are in for an exciting, hard-hitting experience!

Going to War: New Battle Royale Details Leak

Yesterday, a new leaked video surfaced that is reported to be the opening sequence of a Battlefield 6 battle royale match. Although this is not exact gameplay footage itself, we are effectively able to visualise what it could look like – a really crazy opening. We see multiple helicopters flying over a heavily damaged state, evading enemy fire as it were, to create a truly intense airborne insertion.

The leaked document provided some details on the battle royale map too. According to the document, the battle royale map will be set in an area of California that we recognise but has turned into a damaged state of devastation. Players will be sent in from real CH-47 Chinook troop insertion helicopters straight into the combat area (which is exciting for the lengthy introduction). Also, interestingly, while players have a shrinking playable engagement area (like traditional battle royale), the engagement, or shrinking area, looks like it will be a deadly unknown mystery compound (called 'NXC') continuing to spur players into tighter areas in each engagement. Tremendous tactical advantages will exist.

Work in Progress: What This Means for Battlefield 6

It's worth noting that the footage we saw is from the "BF Labs Alpha" client and is considered "work-in-progress". This means that what was shown, from the visuals to the mechanics, could (and will probably) change vastly before launching. Even though we didn't see any real boots-on-the-ground gameplay, this early look is more than enough to get the hype train rolling.

Since Battlefield Labs has had playtests before, it's very likely that this battle royale mode sees players put to the test. In the future, this may even mean more footage and detail will come to light. Be sure to keep an eye out for those playtest invites.

Beyond Battle Royale: More Battlefield 6 Rumors

These battle royale rumours aren't the only ones circulating around regarding Battlefield 6. Other rumours have hinted at the Rush game mode returning, which many veterans would appreciate. But there are also less exciting rumours regarding the single-player campaign, and when the game is finished, it won't meet the expectations of every fan.

As with all games that are still in early development, things can change. Battlefield 6 is quite a bit away, and with plenty of time, DICE could have time to polish or surprise us with new features and additions.
