Capcom Update Raises Alarm
Capcom recently put out an update for Monster Hunter Wilds, which gave rise to concerns from players and fans expecting new content to emerge for the game. Title Update 2 for MH Wilds is expected to be out at the end of June 2025, across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. However, some very simple wording changes from Capcom about the content of the update pointed to players feeling less excited.
"Monsters" to "Monster": Disturbing Linguistic Shift
In previous updates, Capcom led players to believe that Title Update 2 would feature "new monsters", which suggested multiple monsters would be added, and many were looking ahead for more information prior to it coming out. Now Capcom has provided a roadmap to players that states Update 2 will feature "an additional monster", which suggests that there will only be one monster included. This disturbing linguistic grey area was not missed by fans on social media.
Roadmap Reliability and Fan Reassurance
While there is a lot of concern, Capcom has still not responded about the change. Some fans have pointed out that Capcom has a history of not wording things exactly in their roadmap infographics. They noted that on a previous roadmap, about the May 28 update, Capcom had included the wording "Additional Tempered Monster", which ended up being five new tempered creatures. This could mean that the new wording is not exact. The reassurance, of course, has not fully placated some players' concerns that the update would not include major content from what they had hoped for or expected.
Community Reaction and Disappointment
The possibility of having just one new monster has been met with especially gnarly reactions from the Monster Hunter Wilds community. One angry player has stated,
"If Title Update 2 is only Lagiacrus, I’m going to delete the game and wait for G rank. A 3-month wait for one monster is too long, and I have more complete games that I want to play.”
Another simply shares,
"I don’t want to doom, but… it may be over."
These statements demonstrate how the community thinks something different than minor unannounced additions is now needed to enhance the game experience.
Monster Hunter Wilds Update Still Awaiting Clarity
Monster Hunter Wilds fans will have to wait for more clarity and official opportune info from Capcom. With the update looming over the horizon, more is likely to come in the near future. Please remain tuned for the latest MH Wilds news, rumors, leaks, and speculation.
