High-profile Writer Joins God of War Series

The God of War show on Amazon Prime Video that has been in development for a couple of years and is apparently for two seasons is potentially bringing on a big name to the writing team. A new rumour shows that Tania Lotia, writer and producer who was on Netflix's The Witcher adaptation, will be joining the writer's room on the project. This potential addition is emerging as The Witcher series on Netflix has also recently been cancelled. This is exciting news and will be of great interest for fans of the God of War series and its development.

The Rumor Report on Lotia and the History of the Rumor

The rumour about Lotia originated on X from @RedanianIntel, and most news for The Witcher has turned out to be credible when reported by them. So while there has been no confirmation from another outlet yet, the coincidence of Lotia's cancellation of The Witcher and her background makes the rumour reasonable for the God of War series. Lotia has been a writer and producer for The Witcher since 2023, and she has been involved with the Critical Role TV series project, Mighty Nein, which gives her experience with video game adaptations. If the rumour is accurate, we should receive official notification regarding Lotia and, if so, some clarity on the creative direction for the God of War series.

Project Reset and Future Path

If confirmed, Lotia would only be one of the new hires for the God of War adaptation. Last year, several of the key team members, including the former showrunner, Rafe Judkins, reportedly left the project (most media outlets reported it was a creative "reset"), and though a handful of the original writers remain, a new showrunner was brought on board to move the project in a new direction. Clearly, there is no shortage of new talent joining the show, and the project is still actively moving forward - however, it could be a while before we see substantive updates or release windows on the God of War TV series. Stay tuned for further updates on this promising adaptation.
