Dino Crisis New Game Tops Capcom Poll for Series in Need of a New Game

Will the survival horror series get a long overdue resurrection?

Capcom recently held a large vote called the Super Elections, where people from around the world cast a total of 254,148 votes. The vote, which started in February, asked fans various questions about Capcom and its games. One key question was which game series should get a new game or sequel. Dino Crisis new game came out on top with 80,769 votes, followed by Mega Man with 63,395 votes, and Devil May Cry with 60,371 votes.

Where is Dino Crisis Still Popular?

The majority of votes for a new Dino Crisis came from outside Japan. Out of the 80,769 votes, 76,088 were from other countries. In Japan, Dino Crisis didn't make it to the top 10, while Devil May Cry barely made it to the 10th spot with 6,746 votes. The main character of Dino Crisis, Regina, also ranked high in popularity, receiving 6,493 votes and becoming the second most popular female character globally.

Since Capcom is based in Japan, this vote highlights how many people outside Japan want Dino Crisis to return. Before the vote ended in April, Capcom shared that many participants mentioned Dino Crisis in their comments.

Will Dino Crisis Actually Get a New Game or Remake?

The original Dino Crisis did not make the top 10 list for younger players (teens and 20s), but it did for older players (30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s). This is not surprising since it has been over 20 years since Dino Crisis 3 was released, and many younger fans probably haven't played it.

Therefore, a remake of the original Dino Crisis might be the best way to reintroduce the series. Capcom has been successful with Resident Evil remakes, so they might take a similar approach with Dino Crisis. It is now up to Capcom to decide, but it is clear that many fans want a Dino Crisis new game!
